LCFA Intermediate Cup, First Round

Hare & Hounds 3

Woodwards 2

WOODWARDS started the better of the two sides, taking the game to Hare & Hounds, who did not seem to be able to gather any momentum or rhythm.

After 12 minutes G Hooper gave Woodwards the lead. The second period saw Hare & Hounds come out fighting and after 47 minutes Mark King levelled the scores with Mike Moores putting them ahead after 67 minutes.

The lead lasted just 60 seconds, however as P Guy struck the equaliser for Woodwards from the penalty spot.

The game was very tight in the closing stages but Hare & Hounds progressed to the next round thanks to a penalty from Adam Hallam in the 80th minute. Man of the match was Dale Sealey.

Shevington Park 3

Premier Electrics 5

A GREAT game of cup football with Electrics the better side for the opening 20 minutes, taking the lead through Wayne Hicks (12) and David Conway (20).

Shevington struck back with goals from B Blackshaw (25) and M Blackburn (35) to level things up at the break.

The second period saw Shevington take the lead on the hour through J Inglesby but Premier Electrics finished strongly and hit back with goals from Wayne Hicks (65, 80) and Neil Johnson (73).

Digmoor 6

Formby Dons 1

DIGMOOR had much the better of the first-half and took the lead after 20 minutes through John Stalker.

However, they failed to capitalise on this early lead and were pegged back on the stroke of half-time by Sam Reed for Formby.

The second-half was dominated by Digmoor and they capitalised with goals from Stalker (50, 52), James Mercer (62), Steven Kelly (67) and Alan Tyrer (70).

ANOTHER one-sided game. Scorers were Briscough (3), McKenna (2), Farah and Pertard. Burns and Vernon grabbed Ghost’s consolation goals.
